What is a Cohort?
A cohort is a group of participants who train together during the same season of the program. Each cohort follows a structured training schedule that combines safety certification, classroom instruction, and hands on construction work.
Working in cohorts allows participants to build teamwork, accountability, and consistency as they progress through the program.
Seasonal Training Cohorts
Cohort Structure
Dēz Kids operates seasonal cohorts designed to provide focused construction training and real project experience.
Spring Cohort
10 weeks of certification training and hands on construction work.
Summer Cohort
6 week accelerated training focused on safety certifications and practical construction skills.
Fall Cohort
10 weeks of certification training and project based construction experience.
Participants begin with safety and foundational training before moving into hands on work using professional tools and construction methods.
Dēz Kids Construction Education Program trains future builders through small, structured cohorts. Each group moves through the program together, building practical skills, learning workplace expectations, and completing hands on construction projects.
Participants earn industry safety certifications, gain real tool experience, and develop the discipline required to succeed in the construction trades.
Cohort Policy

• Start & End Dates: Each cohort begins and ends on fixed dates. All participants are expected to complete the full 6-week program.
• Teamwork: Every participant works alongside their cohort peers to complete training and project work.

• Stipends: When applicable, participant stipends are issued according to the payment schedule for that cohort.
